  • Creating true interoperability among tools, so translators can work in the tool of their choice, and end-customers can have flexibility about who they work with too.

Allow businesses to embed more information in the files, like TM matches glossaries, or annotations, further enhancing interoperability.I say “new” because XLIFF 2.0 has been around for years now. Unfortunately, adoption of the XLIFF 2.0 standard has been slow, due to tools makers and other players deciding that interoperability is not in their interest. It’s one of those things where commerce gets in the way of sanity.ĭoes XLIFF attempt to do anything for translators specifically? I have a character flaw forcing me to respond to things like this, and so I did, but as the commenting was tricky and the discussion unwieldy I thought I’d be able to address this better in my own article. I'm not sure why the mesh would split in two (it may be something to do with the way different softwares export formats), but give it a try in Memento and see if it has that same behavior.I’m not writing as an expert on XLIFF (because I’m not), but I am passionate about translation and the technology we use, so I’m just delivering my view on the usefulness of XLIFF 2.0. You can actually clean up and fill holes in Memento and export from there (We have hole fill and bridge tools that you can use).

Your idea will likely work, I believe, but rather than using a pattern, using some sort of a mosiac might be more effective (i.e use something that contains more features, rather than a repeating pattern). Low lighting (if you are taking photos in relatively low light) will not help either, nor will hair that is particularly glossy (which is nice hair, but bad for photogrammetry because the hair will look different from different viewpoints). Your theory is in the right direction, I think. It is likely that your hair moves over the course of photo-taking, or that the colour and style of your hair is such that there are not enough photogrammetry features to be extracted from it.
